
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety spoke via telephone with National Television and Radio Council to reveal which TV channel fined and what kind of penalty used against it. The National Television and Radio Council reported that, only one TV channel violated the decision regarding the broadcasting of the films only in Azeri. But the Council representative didn’t tell the name of the TV channel which violated the law. It is also said that, the penalty against the TV channel involves only warning.
It should be noted that, yesterday “New Year TV surprises” Article by Ismayil Ismayilov was placed in “Mediaforum” Web site. In the article it is shown that, on January 1 “Lider” TV channel broadcasted “Alone at home-2” and ATV broadcasted “Pole express” films in Russian.
