Today, the Narimanov District Court heard a preliminary hearing on the lawsuit filed by Unikal newspaper editor-in-chief Asaf Rzayev against “Texnikabank” Open Joint Stock Company. The Judge Senan Hajiyev presided over the hearing.
According to Asef Rzayev, his newspaper has covered the problems between AMAY and Texnikabank OJSC as part of journalistic investigations. That is why, Unikal newspaper has been targeted by the leadership of Texnikabank OJSC. The leadership of Texnikabank OJSC appealed to Press Council for the article published in Unikal newspaper. Rzayev claims that his honor and dignity was disgraced and he was insulted.
The Editor-in-chief filed a lawsuit agaisnt Texnikabank OJSC with the Narimaov District Court. He demands a refutation be published, 1 AZN be paid in compensation and an apology to the newspaper staff.
Judge Senan Hajiyev scheduled the next hearing for 12 June.
