Today the Working Group for the State Support Concept to Mass Media conducted its first meeting.
In the meeting, discussions on problems occurring during the publication and broadcasting of mass media, increasing journalists’ professionalism and upcoming problems have been conducted. Press Council chairman Aflatun Amashov told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety, According to Amashov, the set of documents on the state concept consists of two parts. The first part involves the concept for state support to the Mass Media and the second involves a plan of action for that state support to the Mass Media.
The first document was discussed today. Amashov said that issues stemming from this document will be resolved in the second document. Press Council representatives, lawyer Alimammad Nuriyev, economist Azar Mehdiyev and a representative from the Presidential Administration participated in the meeting.
