The Baku city Executive Administration did not grant permission to Yeni Musavat newspaper to conduct a protest action regarding imprisoned journalists.
The newspaper’s Editor-in-chief Rauf Arifoglu told the Institute for Reporters` Freedom and Safety that he will appeal to court regarding this issue.
Arifoglu noted that they will appeal to the Baku city Executive Administration (BCEA) again to conduct the picket where BCEA proposes. “If we are denied again, we’ll conduct the action in the downtown,” said R.Arifoglu.
Yeni Musavat newspaper appealed to the Baku city Executive Administration to conduct a protest action on 19 February in Sabir Garden regarding imprisoned journalists.
Yeni Musavat newspaper has been published since 1992 and operates as daily newspaper and has large circulation.
