On October 13, a group of the members of the youth movements NIDA and D18 held a protest rally in front of the former office of the ruling yEni Azerbaijan Party.
Activists demanded the release of the members of the Party of People’s Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) – Niyameddin Akhmedov and Fuad Akhmedli, as well as reporter and activist Anar Abdullayev and other political prisoners.
The participants of the action chanted: “Down with the reaction! Long live the Republic!”.
Police squads arrived at the scene, detained its participants taking them to the police station. One of the detainees, Rustam Ismailbeyli, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs insists that no one was detained, just simply pushed away from the territory.
