European Court of Human Rights is considering the complaint regarding the abduction of journalist Afgan Mukhtarli in the priority manner and has already submitted its questions to the government of Azerbaijan in this connection.
According to lawyer Elchin Sadigov, the government of Azerbaijan has been given a week to respond to the questions. The lawyer also noted that the investigative agency is delaying the issue of medical examination. “The motion regarding the examination was lodged on 30 May,but the examination has not been conducted yet. We assess it as an attempt to cover up the fact of torture,“ he said.
