In a statement to journalists, Presidential Administration Socio-political department head Ali Hasanov said that the imprisonment of journalists negative affects Azerbaijan’s image.
“All international organizations present this as problems regarding freedom of expression and the press in Azerbaijan,” said Hasanov. “We hope that after this, such incidents will not repeat themselves. We must wish the doors of the imprisoned journalists are opened.”
Hasanov said a project related to the social situation of journalists is being prepared, and after this congress, we will once again analyze this document and present it to the president. According to him, this document will be included with the state support to the press and will not affect the independent of newspapers.
