ANS TV channel will sue “Yeni Musavat” newspaper because of article entitled “ANS vodka advertising during Ramadan” published in the newspaper yesterday, 27 August, according to information disseminated by ANS TV channel. ANS TV states that the channel does not advertise vodka.
“Yeni Musavat” Newspaper Editor-in-chief Rauf Arifoglu told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that ANS TV wants to sue the newspaper over author article of Zahid Safaroglu.
“To sue newspaper because of an author article is absurd,” said Arifoglu. “We’ll file a counter lawsuit against ANS TV because “Yeni Musavat” newspaper was insulted in the text given on ANS TV and placed on anspress.com website.”

R.Arifoglu emphasized that they will appeal to court in connection with ANS for attempting to damage the newspaper’s business image using insulting expressions against the newspaper even if ANS TV does not appeal to court.
