Nasimi District Court heard the investigator’s petition to extend journalist Afgan Mukhtarli’s pretrial detention period until 29 December 2017. The court partially granted the petition, Mukhtarli’s lawyer Elchin Sadigov reports.
“Mukhtarli’s pretrial detention term has been prolonged until 20 December. The reason provided for this is that the criminal case against Mukhtarli has been merged with the criminal case against Meydan TV and the investigation period of the latter case expires on 20 December 2017,” the lawyer has said.
