On May 4th, Freedom House, a Washington DC based freedom and democracy watchdog group, held a World Press Freedom Reception.
The event brought together U.S. Congress members and international freedom of expression activists from the Middle East, Post-soviet union, Southeast Asia, and other parts of the world to discuss and debate the most important challenges facing Freedom of Expression today. U.S. representatives Adam Schiff and Mike Pence emphasized the commitment of the U.S. government to supporting Freedom of Expression worldwide. The İnstitute For Reporters’ Freedom and Safety Chairman Emin Huseynov from Azerbaijan was also in attendance. He has met with Freedom House Executive Director David Cramer, the media programme head and other representatives of the organization.
