The police in Gazakh have detained Gazakh-based freelance journalist Nijat Amiraslanov. The journalist is accused of resistance against the police. He was detained in the evening hours on 22 May, as reported by lawyer Elchin Sadigov. On 23 May, Gazakh Regional Court found Nijat Amiraslanov guilty under Article 535.1 of the Administrative Violations Code and sentenced him to 30-day administrative arrest.
