Today, 12 February, lawyer Isakhan Ashurov visited imprisoned “Azadlig” Newspaper satiric/journalist Sakit Zahidov in prison #14.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by I. Ashurov. Zahidov’s health is normal and does not have any complaints about the prison conditions or the attitude of the staff towards him, according to Ashurov.
Sakit Zahidov was arrested on 23 June 2006 for possession of narcotics (this charge is widely understood to be spurious) and was sentenced to three year of imprisonment by the Grave Crimes Court.
