To evaluate the professional level of journalists, to identify the journalists that adhere to professional standards and the journalists that violate these standards, the Press Council (PC) is going to implement a new project – “Adherence to the Principles of Professional Ethics in the Azerbaijani Press.”
Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov reported this during a press conference on this project today, 13 February. The project, which has been implemented since 1 February of this year, has been financed by the US Embassy to Azerbaijan. The project, which covers 57 newspapers and several internet publications, will allow observing how mass media employees adhere to the ethics and legislation norms, according to Amashov.
In the end, A. Amashov noted that this project has been implemented bya coalition of five journalist organizations – “Yeni Nesil” Journalist Union, Azerbaijani Journalist Union, Najaf Najafov Fund, League of Democratic Journalists, and “RUH” Committee to Protect Journalists.
