The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety Chairman Emin Huseynov’s complaint regarding “Ses” newspaper was considered during a Board Meeting (26.12.08) of Press Council. This was noted in the letter IRFS received from the Press Council.
Emin Huseynov appealed to the Press Council in connection with an article entitled "It's proven that Emin Huseynov is working with missionaries" that was run in "Ses" Newspaper on 20 June 2008. Huseynov claimed that information in the article about him and the organization he leads did not conform to reality, the article violated journalism ethics and was biased, and the principles of impartiality were not observed in the article. This issue was considered during a Board Meeting of the Council, and “Ses” newspaper was recommended to apologize to IRFS Chairman Emin Huseynov, to publish an article reflecting the views of the opposite side, and a decision was adopted to publish this decision in the next edition of the newspaper.
