On 31 December 2008, at 00:00, executing the decision of National TV and Radio Broadcasting Council (NTRC), the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies stopped the broadcasting of foreign radio stations through FM frequencies.
“Radio Liberty” is continuing to its broadcasting via short wave, internet and satellite, and all programs are being aired as before, according to broadcasting schedule.
As of 1 January, it has been possible to listen to “Radio Liberty” via 9.48 MHz frequency of short waves (Baku time from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.), on the internet and via Hot-bird satellite for 24 for hours.
Listeners can listen to full format programs of Azerbaijan service of “Voice of America” via 9625, 9805, 12025 kilohertz frequencies (Baku time 10:30 to 11:00) and can also follow news on its website www.voanews.com/azerbaijani for 24 hours.
BBC Azerbaijani Service will go on the air via 6 055, 7 215 and 9 635 Kilohertz short waves.
