RADIO LIBERTY’S PRESIDENT CURRENTLY IN AZERBAIJAN

Radio Liberty’s Azerbaijan bureau reported today that “Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty” President Jeffery Gedmin is visiting Baku.

During this official trip he will meet with government and opposition representatives. The situation of the local media will also be discussed a meeting with press representatives.  

Azertag reports that President Ilham Aliyev met with Jeffery Gedmin today. According to the state new agency, Gedmin told Aliyev that his main goal was to inquire about processes occurring in Azerbaijan. In response to this, Aliyev noted that rapid development is occurring in all areas in Azerbaijan, and this development involves all regions. The president also said that the opportunity will be created for Gedmin to become closely acquainted with Azerbaijan.
