SHARUR POLICE THREATENS IRFS CORRESPONDENT

The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety Nakhchivan regional correspondent Hakimeldostu Mehdiyev was threatened by police.    

H.Mehdiyev went to Sharur District Police Department to investigate news about 30 people who were fishing at water basin “Ashagi Yol” located on “Arpachay” water junction in Ashagi Yayiji village who were taken to Sharur DPD on 4 September. Chief of Criminal Investigation Department Elkhan Hasanov threatened IRFS employee H.Mehdiyev instead of answering to his questions.
“We are thinking about taking measures about you,” E.Hasanov told the journalist.
