“Ideal” Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ali Hasanov, whose prison term end in two months, has been included in the amnesty act. The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by the Chief Deputy of the Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Services Huseyn Alikhanov.
On 22 March Ali Hasanov was visited by his spouse Narmina Hasanova. Hasanov’s health and situation are normal, and he will be released within the next ten days, according to N.Hasanova.
A. Hasanov was accused under articles 147.2 and 148 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment on 14 November 2008.
