Today the Narimanov District Court held a preliminary hearing on MP Etibar Huseynov’s lawsuit against Khural newspaper.
MP Etibar Huseynov filed a lawsuit against Khural newspaper, citing the violation of his honour and dignity in an article published in the 23 January 2011 edition of Khural.
Khural editor-in-chief Avaz Zeynalli and his lawyer Elchin Sadigov, and the plaintiff’s lawyer Vugar Ahmadov were in attendance.
Sadigov filed a motion requesting to transfer the lawsuit to Yasamal District Court, on the grounds that the newspaper was printed at the ‘Express Neshriyyat’ Printing Company.
Citing a lack of supporting documents, the Judge rejected the motion and rescheduled the case for 9 am, 16 February.
