APPEAL OF JOURNALISTS NOT FULFILLED

Today, 9 December, in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Huseyn Talibov, a hearing was held on the appeal against the decision of the Sabail District Court adopted on the lawsuit of “Yukselish namine” Newspaper correspondent Elchin Hasanov, “Yeni Musavat” Newspaper former employee Afgan Mukhtarli and “Azadlig” Newspaper employee Natig Adilov against the Sabail District procurator’s office.

The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by plaintiff Elchin Hasanov. He said that the appeal was not fulfilled.

The Sabail District procurator’s office conducted an investigation into the police pressure that the journalists were subject to, and the procurator’s office refused to begin a criminal case.
