On December 24 2007 “Azerbaijan” Newspaper published the article “My Universities” under Ilham Aliyev’s signature.
Yesterday (On December 25) “Day.az” web internet page reported that, the material published in “Azerbaijan” Newspaper was taken from “Ilham Aliyev: I believe in my Azerbaijan” book which is written by Mikhail Ozerov.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety spoke via telephone with “Azerbaijan” Newspaper to get information regarding the article. Newspaper correspondent Ikhtiyar Huseynli told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety that, “Day.az web internet page gave wrong information”.
In his interview to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety “Day.az” web internet page Editor Elnur Baimov noted that, “they try to cover their faults in such way. We made a research before placing the information in the web internet page. We have also placed the picture of the book in the web internet page”.
