Azadliq newspaper staff were picketing today in front of the office of the Gasid press distribution firm demanding repayment of an amassed debt of 68,000 manat which Gasid owes to Azadliq for sold papers.
As usual, Gasid director Mirkazim Kazimov met the protesters saying the firm admits the debt, but does not have means to pay it back, as itself was in a “dire financial state”.
The employees of the newspaper, in turn, said that promises do not solve anything, as the newspaper is also facing financial crunch and they cannot get salaries. Every time Kazimov promises to try to pay part of the debt, but has never given an exact date when it will be fully repaid.
