The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by Ahmedov’s lawyer, Media Rights Institute employee Fariz Namazli.
According to F. Namazli, considering the lawsuit unfounded, Judge A. Huseynov issued a decision not to fulfill it. Namazli emphasized that they will appeal against the decision.
A. Ahmadov filed this lawsuit because his phone calls were eavesdropped on when an investigation was in progress into the case of “Azadlig” Newspaper correspondent Agil Khalil. Ahmadov demands that eavesdropping on his phone calls be considered unfounded and he be paid compensation for moral damages.
