AZERBAIJAN INTERNET FORUM REVEALS RESULTS OF ITS MONITORING

After across the board discount were applied in the country’s internet market on 1 February 2009, Azerbaijan Internet Forum (AIF) conducted monitoring to investigate the situation.

AIF Chairman Osman Gunduz spoke about this during a press conference dedicated to the results of the monitoring. Although there have been certain positive progress  after the price cut downs, it is not possible to say that useful situation has been created for the country’s internet users after the sale, said O. Gunduz. According to him, most providers claim that the speed has been doubled for the previous price, but in reality the speed remains slow.
In the end, Gunduz proposed that providers give out modems free, and conduct a campaign to offer services without monthly payments or according to the amount of the traffic.
