In connection with 3 May, World Press Freedom Day, the press freedom organization Reporters Without Borders unveiled its annual report on the situation of press in the world.
“Ilham Aliyev’s relations with the very few independent media in Azerbaijan are tinged with authoritarianism and terror. Journalists who dare to speak out about the evils of the regime including corruption and high unemployment expose themselves to real danger,” it is noted in the section of the report about Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan has been ranked 150th among 173 countries in the report released by Reporters Without Borders.
