Lawyer of murdered journalist Rafiq Tagi has lodged a complaint against the decision on suspension of the investigation into the murder of journalist Rafiq Tagi, who was killed in November of 2011. The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS) was informed about it by journalist’s lawyer Elchin Sadigov.

“On March 6, we presented complaint to Nasimi district court over the suspension decision. We consider this decision to be groundless,” the lawyer said.

Note that Rafiq Tagi was brutally stabbed on 19 November 2011 near his home and passed away four days later in the hospital. Department for Investigation of Serious Crimes of the Prosecutor General’s Office announced suspension of the investigation proceedings on 8 January 2014.
