Emin Fatullayev met today with his son, imprisoned “Realny Azerbayjan” and “Gundalik Azerbayjan” Newspapers’ Editor-in-Chief Eynulla Fatullayev.
Emin Fatullayev told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety. According to him, Eynulla Fatullayev does not have any complaints about the prison conditions, his health or the attitude towards him in prison.
Emin Fatullayev said that someone from the United States of America named Vugkhan Thompson appealed to President Ilham Aliyev to release Eynulla Fatullayev and to give the journalist compensation.
“This letter was sent by the Presidential Administration to the Supreme Court,” said Emin Fatullayev. “In its turn, the Supreme Court appealed to Eynulla. In this letter it was recommended that Eynulla appeal to the Plenum of the Supreme Court. But, noting that the European Court of Human Rights will soon consider his case and he does not expect justice from any Azerbaijani court, Eynulla refused to appeal.”
