ELMIRA SULEYMANOVA ELECTED OMBUDSMAN AGAIN

The Milli Mejlis (Parliament) elected Elmira Suleymanova a Commissioner on Human Rights (Ombudsman) again. In the session of parliament on 5 March Members of the parliament ratified that E.Suleymanova will work as a Commissioner on human rights for an additional 7 years . 106 persons voted in favor of E.Suleymanova and 7 persons voted against her.

Besides Elmira Suleymanova, President Ilham Aliyevput forth the candidacy of two more people: Faig Gurbanov – Ministry of Justice Human Rights and Public Relations Chairman, and Teymur Malikaslanov – UN Supreme Commissioner’s Representative on Human Rights in Azerbaijan.
