Baku's new Frontline Media Club was launched today at an event at the Europe Hotel.
The head of the Club Arif Aliyev declared that its goal is to support the local media and provide assistance as necessary. The club aims to hold public discussions on topical issues at least once a month.
The first of these discussions was entitled “Baku’s characteristics, the duties of the media and civil society duties in protecting these characteristics, and the role of the community in urban management”. A student documentary about life in Baku was screened, followed by discussions between well-known journalists, politicians and NGO representatives.
The next meeting of Frontline Baku Media Club will be in late December.
