HEARING AGAINST “YENI CHAG”, “ELCHİ” AND “HUNER MEYDANI” NEWSPAPERS POSTPONED

Today, 19 May, in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Aflatun Gasimov, a hearing was scheduled to take place on the lawsuit of Gazakh region residents Vidadi Yusifov and Terane Yusifova against “Yeni Chag”, “Elchi” and “Huner Meydani” newspapers. Defendants “Yeni Chag” newspaper editor-in-chief Agil Alasgar (Farajov) and his lawyer Agalar Agashirinov participated in the hearing.

Agalar Agashirinov put forth a motion to postpone the hearing because the other defendants were not present.
The judge fulfilled the motion and scheduled the next hearing for 2 June 2009 at 11:30 a.m.
This lawsuit stems from article “Owner from Gazakh” that was published in all three articles. The plaintiffs claim that their honor and dignity were damaged and demand that all defendants be fined 100,000 AZN.
