
Defendants Shakir Abbasov and Mubariz Masimoglu, and their lawyer Hidayet Rustembayli participated in the hearing.
On the basis of a motion put forth by Mubariz Masimoglu, expert Samir Mehdiyev gave testimony and confirmed what he originally said that initial investigation.
After this, Abbas Abula and “Azerbayjan” Radio news department chief editor Hurriyyet Mammedov testified as witnesses. They said there was no conflict on the bus.
Then M. Masimoglu put forth a verbal motion to call to the court lawyers Tofig Aslanov and Ramiz Mirzayev, who were both hired to defend Masimoglu by unknown people, and Yasamal District Court Police Department investigator Anar Mammedov and have them testify.
Judge Tahir Ismayilov said that this type of motion has to be presented to the court in writing, and scheduled the next hearing on this case for 28 April 2009 at 2 p.m.

This lawsuit stems from a dispute which happened on public bus #218 between assistant editor-in chief of "Korrupsiya ve Jamiyyat" Journal Mubariz Masimoglu, Maleyka Asadova and Emil Jarchiyev in August 2008. A criminal case was opened against Mubariz Masimoglu in the Yasamal District Police Department under article 221.2 (hooliganism).
