Yesterday, 15 March, in the Yasamal District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Ragib Gurbanov, a hearing was conducted on the lawsuit of the Center for Regional Human Rights and Social Research Public Union Founders Ali Bashirli and Shukur Izzetoglu against the Justice Ministry to consider the ministry’s failure to register the Public Union unfounded. Plaintiff Shukur Izzetoglu took part in the hearing.
Although nobody participated in the hearing on behalf of the defendant, Shukur Izzetoglu did not object to the proceedings of the hearing and asked the judge to fulfill the lawsuit.
“According to the legislation, the Justice Ministry should respond to the appeal within 40 days, if not the organization should be registered and a certificate should be given,” said Sh.Izzetoglu, who filed a motion requesting that this motion to be considered in adopting a decision.

The Center for Regional Human Rights and Social Research Public Union was founded in March, 2009, and appealed to the Justice Ministry on 7 April 2009 to be registered. Then the union appealed to court due to the Ministry’s refusal to register it.
