“HOTLINE” TO BE CREATED IN PRESS COUNCIL

On 15 October, the day of the presidential elections, the Press Council will operate a Press Council.

Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov told “Yeni Musavat” Newspaper that on the Election Day the hotline will help those journalists who have difficulty obtaining information.

“Journalists will inform us of the problems they face in the stations, and we’ll intervene and provide assistance. We’ll of course deliver the complaints to the Central Electoral Commission operatively. The commission for solving problems between mass media and government organs will also operate on that day. As a result of coordinated activity we’ll work so the journalists don’t have problems in obtaining information,” emphasized Amashov.

The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety also continues to operates its hotline for journalists 24 a day, every day. Media representatives who face problems can contract IRFS at 012-418-0334.
