On Friday, 10 October, in “Dan Ulduzu” Hall of Park Inn hotel, a forum was conducted by the International Center for Journalists on the theme “Democracy in Azerbaijan: Goals and Calls.”
The situation of Azerbaijani Press, political pluralism, democratization, civil society and economic development were discussed in the forum.
Baku State University instructor Zeynal Mammadli opened the event and said that the aim of conducting this forum is to create conditions for discussions on the issues that are vital to Azerbaijan.
Then IREX representative Shahin Abbasov, economist-expert Gubad Ibadoglu, Doctor of Phylological Science Rena Safaraliyeva, parliamentarian Aydin Mirzazade, Ambassador of Norway John Romberg and political expert Ilgar Mammadov answered questions in connection with the situation of Azerbaijan’s press, political pluralism, democratization, civil society and economic development.
