Human rights defenders Novella Jafaroglu, Seadet Benenyarli, Chingiz Ganizade and Saida Gojamanli met with Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammerberg, Parliament Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan Andreas Herkel and Josef Grech; and also heads of the “Ago” group, the Commission of Vanessa and the Committee against Torture within the framework of the PACE winter session held in Strasburg, according to Turan Information Agency.
According to Saida Gojamanli, the representatives of the Council of Europe were given information regarding the arrest of youth bloggers Emin Milli, Adnan Hajizade and a new criminal case put forth against E.Fatullayev and 24 political prisoners. The representatives of the Council of Europe said that they are concerned about these issues and will visit Azerbaijan regularly in 2010.
