“Tinsohbeti” internet web page has been closed for Azeri internet users since November 25.
In connection to this matter the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety sent information requests to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies and Delta Telecom LLC. The addressed information request has been responded by the signature of Ministry’s Information Community Development Department chairman R.Gulmammadov. In the information request addressed by the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety it is noted that, the internet web page is closed for Azeri internet users and it is possible to use the web page only by proxy server. And this situation shows the blockage of the web page obliviously. It is also emphasized that, the blockage of the web internet page and not taking any decision related the current matter is focus point for the community. The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety sent the information request considering the ministry’s rights and obligations regarding the Internet and being the founder of “AzerSat” LLC together with delta Telecom LLC. In response to the information request, it is noted that the theoretical blockage of any web internet page by different variants is possible. After that, the blockage variants are noted in the response. “Tinsohbeti” current matter isn’t revealed concretely in the response.
The appeals addressed to Delta Telecom LLC via fax have not been responded.
