On July 11 the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety addressed an appeal in connection with the birthday of slain “Monitor” Journal Editor-in-Chief Elmar Huseynov.
In the appeal IRFS asked organizations to place web-banners on their websites in memory of Huseynov this week, and also asked people to peacefully gather in front of Azerbaijani embassies abroad hoisting placards calling for the Azerbaijani government to solve Huseynov’s murder and send pictures of their action to irfs.az@gmail.
Today IRFS renews its appeal, noting that Huseynov’s birthday is tomorrow. In addition to IRFS, the Media Rights Institute in Azerbaijan, Mediaforum Website, Legal Enlightenment Society and Turan News Agency. In addition several well-known international organizations have express their intent to join the campaign today or tomorrow.
