JOURNALIST INSULTED

On August 19th, Yeni Musavat employee Leyla Ilgar was insulted by police while carrying out her professional activity.

She told IRFS that she was insulted by one of police employees while filming in front of the Sabail District Court during the court hearing of activists arrested at the April 2nd opposition coalition protest.
“Along with other media representatives, I was in front of the court building to observe the court trial of the prisoners of conscience who were arrested on April 2nd. We waited outside to film. After the hearing, when I attempted to photograph the protesters, the police officers intervened and they used pressure against journalists. One of the police employees insulted me and used inappropriate language.”
