Canub Khabarlari (South News) newspaper editor-in-chief Zahir Amanov was subjected to physical pressure while carrying out his professional work, Amanov told IRFS today.
According to him, about 100 religious followers with religious flags on their hands and shouting religious slogans protested against hijab ban in schools.
“Despite police interference, they were moving towards the Masalli Region Education Department. I was photographing the developments. Several police officers in the scene took me and several protesters to the Masalli Region Police Department. They confiscated my camera and didn’t give it back to me when I was set free,” said Amanov. He added that he will turn to relevant agencies for assistance.
