On March 17th, the Baku Administrative Economic Court No 1 held a hearing on journalist Yafaz Hasanov’s lawsuit against the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Judge Sevinj Aliyev presided over the hearing. The lawsuit was rejected.
Journalist Yafaz Hasanov reports that he has been facing pressuers since the parliamentary elections of 2010. He is regularly followed by a specific car, with an identified license plate number, has faced repeated threats of violence, and received threatening phone calls. The Journalist took the issue to the Interior Minsitry requesting that an investigation be launched. Receiving no reponse from the Ministry, he went to court.
