April 2nd, 2010
Today, 2 April, in the Sabail District Court, under the chairmanship of judge Kamala Amirkhanova, a hearing was held on the lawsuit of a group of journalists (Elchin Hasanov, Afgan Mukhtarli, Natig Adilov) against the Sabail District Police Department #39.

Plaintiff E.Hasanov took part in the hearing. No one on behalf of the defendant participated in the hearing.
The judge issued a decision to not fulfill the lawsuit.
On 10 May 2009 Elchin Hasanov, Afgan Mukhtarli, and Natig Adilov were subjected to pressure in front of the Sabail District Police Department #39. They were beaten in front of the police department while they wanted to gather information regarding the detention of a group of young adults who protested against the “Flower Holiday.” The youth wanted to announce a day of funeral for the victims of an attack at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. The journalists appealed to court to consider the action of police unfounded.
