On 10 May 2009 Elchin Hasanov, Afgan Mukhtarli, and Natig Adilov were subjected to pressure in front of the Sabail District Police Department #39. They were beaten in front of the police department while they wanted to gather information regarding the detention of a group of young adults who protested against the “Flower Holiday.” The youth wanted to announce a day of funeral for the victims of an attack at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. The journalists appealed to court to consider the action of police unfounded.
