Head of the Azerbaijan Cinema Producers Guild, Producer Huseyn Mehdiyev is suing “Khazar TV” and “Public TV” because they didn’t pay him an honorarium and violated legal rules.
H. Mehdiyev told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety.
“The most recent hearing was conducted in local Economic Court # 1 a month ago. The court will reach a decision in a month,” said Mehdiyev.
H. Mehdiyev, noting that the Cinema Producers Guild protects audio-visual works, authors, and the interests of other right owners in this area, believes his lawsuit is fully substantiated. “An honorarium must be paid for every broadcast TV work. Here we are not talking only about films, but also about audio-visual works like clips, documentary films, animated cartoons or spectacles. Every author should be paid an honorarium for the broadcasting of these. ‘Khazar TV,’ along with ‘Public TV,’ doesn’t want to pay the authors honorariums.
