KHURAL EMPLOYEE INVITED TO AMERICAN EMBASSY IN AZERBAIJAN

On December 7th, Khural newspaper’s current editor-in-chief, Nasiraddin Khoja, and Azadlig newspaper employee, Anar Mahmudoglu, were invited to the US Embassy to meet with US Press Secretary Keith Bean.

According to khural.com, Mahmudoglu gave detailed information about death threats he received on December 6th from the telophon number 012-514-28-67, pressures against Khural newspaper employees, and the arrest of Khural’s editor-in-chief Avaz Zeynalli.
“Khural newspaper’s publication was illegally stopped. After that we began to publish Free Speech Revolution newspaper (ASI), but the owner of the E.Q publishing house called ASI and is refusing to print the newspaper, due to orders from the Presidential Administration” said Mahmudoglu. Mahmudoglu also said that Narimanov District Police Staion # 17 has began an investigation regarding threats against him.
Keith Bean said that he is following the developments around Khural newspaper and the arrest of the newspaper editor-in-chief Avaz Zeynalli.
