“Khural” Newspaper has addressed an appeal to Communications and Technologies Minister Ali Abbasov, “Azerpocht” State Establishment’s Head Director Gambar Baybalayev, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Press Council Aflatun Amashov and the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety in connection with the compulsory sale of several newspapers at post offices that belong to “Azerpocht”.
It is noted in the appeal that in most post offices people are being coerced into purchasing several independent and pro-government newspapers. The list of these newspapers has been provided in the appeal and the organs have been asked to bring light to this issue.
In the end, it is noted in the appeal that although “Khural” Newspaper has published articles in connection with this issue, no press organs or organizations reacted to this matter.
