LAWSUIT AGAINST “IDEAL” JOURNAL SENT TO KHATAI DISTRICT COURT

Yesterday, 12 February, in the Baku Appellate Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Tofig Samadov, a hearing was held on the lawsuit of singer Gunel Alakbarova against the decision of the Nasimi District Court.

G. Akbarova appealed to the Nasimi District Court claiming that her honor and dignity were damaged by the article "Pishik Gunel" (Cat Gunel) that was published in "Ideal" Journal. The defense filed a motion in the Nasimi District Court asking to send the case to Khatai District Court to be considered in accordance with the legal address of the editorial office. And the Court fulfilled the motion. Objecting to this decision, Gunel Alakbarova appealed to the Appellate Court. Appellate Court Judge T. In her lawsuit, Gunel Alakbarova asked to open a criminal case against the responsible figures of the journal, to pay 100,000 AZN for moral damages and to shut down the journal.
