Lawyer Alaif Hasanov will visit “Azadlig” Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ganimat Zahidov in Prison #17 and “Azadlig” Newspaper employee Sakit Zahidov in Prison #14 in a few days.
A. Hasanov told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety. “A couple of days ago I was supposed to visit Sakit Zahidov,” said Hasanov. “However, after making me wait for two hours in the prison, they didn’t grant me permission to visit Zahidov, making excuses that the chief of the prison was not at work,” said Hasanov.
Hasanov also stated that he received permission from the Justice Ministry Penitentiary Service to visit these two imprisoned journalists and that he will visit them in a few days.
