Nizami District Court under Judge Ziya Aliyev held a preparatory meeting regarding the lawsuit brought by Azerbaijan Airlines Closed Joint Stock Company against Yeni Musavat newspaper for the protection of personal honor, dignity, and good name.
Elchin Sadigov, legal representative of the newspaper, said that they appealed against the court decision which denied their motion asking the court to bar the plaintiff from bringing new suits against the defendant during the current case or bringing charges other than the initial charges of the lawsuit. The judge postponed the case for July 30th 11:00am in order to consider this appeal.
On May 10th 2012 AZAL has appealed against Yeni Musavat newspaper for alleged untrue information in the article titled “AZAL had fulfilled state orders worth billions of manats without any tenders” and demanded 500 000AZN in compensation.
