The Council of Europe’s Cabinet of Ministers Monitoring Group chairman Per Sogren gave an interview to “Turan” Information Agency.
In his interview he reported that, in 2008 year AQO group will give special attention to Mass Media matter in Azerbaijan, invite Azerbaijan government to the dialogue regarding this subject and raise a perfection of the legislation related to this matter. Especially, the group will work on improvement of journalistic professionalism, decriminalization of defamation and improvement of Public Television independence. According to him, in support of this a special program will be carried out in the journalism faculty of Baku State University.
