November 18th, 2011
Local NGO Human Rights Club has opened a lawsuit against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Azerbaijani Parliamentary Apparatus, and General Prosecutor’s Office their non-reponse to public information enquiries.

The enquiry to the Foreign Ministry asked about the changes to visa regulations in Azerbaijan. The one sent to the Parliament enquired about the reasons for rejecting the accreditation application of journalist Taleh Shahsuvarli. The last inquiry, submitted to the General Prosecutor’s Office, sought its official position on the regulation of social networking sites.
Since the timeframe (7 working days according to the Azerbaijani legislation)  for responding had expired, Human Rights Club went to court. On Decemebr 5th, at 2pm, there court proceedings on the case against the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will begin. Judge Ilham Ahmadov will preside over the hearing.
