The imprisoned “Azadlig” Newspaper journalist/satiric Mirza Sakit’s health has been deteriorated seriously.
Rana Zahidova, the wife of the imprisoned journalist told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety and noted that on January 2 she met with him. R.Zahidova emphasized that, the imprisoned journalist has been kept in the treatment facility of the Prison 14#. She also added that, he suffers from heart ache and leg ache. “He has lost much weight”.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety spoke via telephone with Prison 14# chairman Arshad Hasanov in connection with this matter. A.Hasanov refusing to give any information advised us to speak with Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service Public Relations Department chairman Mehman Sadigov. We couldn’t speak via telephone with Mehman Sadigov due to holidays.
